New Year, New Mind: Has your mind merged with your goals?
We Made It!
Welcome to 2020WON. The previous year was long and intense. Yet, for some, it was just what they needed to re-evaluate their mind in order to recommit themselves to taking that leap towards personal and professional growth.
I am part of that “some.” 2020 was an opportunity for me to see myself beyond my current accomplishments. When I started the year, I had no idea the opportunities God had lined up for me, the rooms my name was being spoken in, and the people that would be placed in my life to support my journey to the next wealthy place.
From officially becoming the CEO of an INC. 5000 company to hosting a conference! Who would have thought it? I sure did not when the year started.
Now, we are entering another year. I am so excited to see what this year is going to bring. However, I know I have to be mentally prepared for it. Having the mental space to receive new thoughts, develop new ideas, and process expanded opportunities are important for me to reach my next wealthy place. That goes for you too.
I am sure you have goals for 2020WON. But do you know that God has plans beyond what you have ever thought about? Are you in a position to receive those plans?
I started the year off with my birthday. Literally, on January 2, I turned 60 years old. To ring in the new calendar year, I decided to (safely) take a much-needed vacation to Jamaica. While there, I hosted a virtual birthday party with approximately 50 of my closest friends and family members.
While I was on there, listening to DJ Curly Sue's tunes on a beautiful island, I had to think just how my discipline for keeping my mind strong and focused allowed me to be in this space. A space of peace, happiness, love, and success. In my book, As My Leaders Go… So Do I. I talk about how “wherever I resided during my attack, I created a War Room.” You need to be at war with whatever is holding you back.
If you are serious about taking your life to the next level, one goal for this year should be your efforts of being at war with anything that keeps you from having positive thoughts in your mind. What’s going on in there? What thoughts have you been having that have held you back?
I encourage you all this month to take a break if you can, (safely) communicate with your support team, and re-evaluate whether your mind has merged with your goals.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself to make sure your 2020WON is the real winner…
1) How do you feel about yourself?
2) What do I love about my life?
3) What do I want to change about my life?
4) What lessons have I learned in my life that I can help others?
5) Where do you see yourself on December 31, 2020WON?
6) Are you using your time wisely?
7) Am I being intentional about my decisions?
8) Do I have examples of success for goals?
9) Do I have the tools I need to achieve my goals?
10) Are the examples (people) I am modeling my success after the right people to follow?
11) What concerns me the most about the future?
12) What can I do daily to ensure I am investing in my goals?
13) Do I have anyone (or thing) in my life that is a distraction and not your peace (or piece)?
14) Am I taking care of my physical body?
15) If I do not achieve the goals I have for myself, how will it affect me?
16) When do I feel most motivated?
17) What does my ideal day look like?
18) How do I show myself, love?
19) When the devil throws an attack at my life, are you prepared to beat him?
20) What is my “why?”
Asking yourself these questions can help you evaluate if your mind is merging with your goals. Once you evaluate, you will be able to make better choices for your 2020WON. Once you can make better choices, you can win in every area.
